A mindful approach to a meaningful life

Individual Therapy

Clients are referred by their doctors, psychologists, or other health care professionals or they may reach out on their own. Some know exactly what they need help with – sometimes it is knowledge or skills – while others might just feel stuck or are struggling to function optimally. Often what we think is our challenge just scratches the surface and deeper aspects can arise during sessions.

These could include intense and overwhelming emotions, people pleasing behaviours, feeling burned out and struggling to keep up with demands, ‘worst-case scenario’ or ‘what if’ spirals, troubles with sleeping, managing conflict and so on.

Through sharing knowledge, reflective exercises or specific practices – the aim is to find a workable plan or solution for you.

Group Therapy

I have found one of the best ways to help people is by asking diverse questions for diverse learning. Typically, these sessions includes grounding practices like breathwork, guided visualisations, or meditations as well as discussions and skills training.

Often participants may raise issues for example: not being able to find an off-switch, feeling hi-jacked by emotions and powerless, struggling to create change, feeling worried or anxious all the time, unable to set and enforce boundaries, or being self-critical and fearing failure, and so on.

Every moment is a learning opportunity, for situational awareness, non-judgment, and acceptance.

Participants realise they are not alone in their struggles and gain diverse perspectives on personal challenges.

We discuss accountability, taking responsibility for our own lives and gaining hope from other’s success.

The group environment fosters a sense of belonging and a safe practice ground for newly acquired skills.

Group sessions are open to anyone who finds aspects of their life challenging, or who might want to improve their social skills or build coping strategies in a safe environment.

Mindfulness & Guided Practice Groups

Sessions begin with a short introduction and any questions that arise are answered before we begin.

Participants explore and experience different mindfulness, meditation, and grounding techniques to apply to their daily routines.

Afterwards we reflect on our experiences before we close.

Workplace Wellness Groups

Group wellness sessions are interactive and participants receive practical easy-to-implement coping skills depending on the topic.

The approach is action-orientated with a focus on teaching functional skills and actionable strategies to apply to current situations and help overcome obstacles in everyday life.

Facing Physical Challenges

Recovering from a physical injury, dealing with chronic pain, auto-immune diseases or needing to adapt to a physical disability etc. can be debilitating and have a devastating impact on our mental health. The aim of these sessions is to build resilience, support independence, adapt to new realities as well as achieve greater quality of life.

Pain management, developing a sense of acceptance, maintaining a positive attitude and growth mindset, developing a support network etc. may form part of these sessions as well.
